Security Beefed Up At Film City Post Shootout

We told you how Film City witnessed a shootout earlier in the day (SpotboyE.com, May 22). Amitabh Bachchan was shooting in the premises when the firing broke out. The superstar even tweeted about it.

Of course, the incident left everybody at Film City shaken. It was shocking how bikers drove up to the victim, Raju Shinde, and shot at him in broad daylight. To add insult to the injury, the attackers were not even nabbed by the security personnel.

Talking about their failed attempt, Shirish Sawant, the head of security at Film City, said, “Our staff did chase the bikers. They left the bike and fled the spot.”

The recent incident has once again brought the poor level of security under the scanner.

Sawant continued, We will start frisking people from tomorrow and expedite the plan for security beef-up.

Looks like it’s the classic case of shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted. In the past too, the lack of security has been brought to the Governments notice but the concerned officials have always turned a blind eye to it.
